"One" involves a simple gimmick that allows the performer to create two cards out of one. The gimmick is made by attaching a quarter of another card with double-stick tape to a selected card. The piece is a different colour to make it visible throughout the routine. The performer explains that the routine came about through trial and error and has become the perfect trick. With just one single card, the performer can execute an impressive routine. To create the gimmick, a face card is recommended.
